Installment 7/10 - Antique rose cut diamond and bristol glass ring, 18th century
This ring was made in England around 1780/ 90 and is in very good, antique condition. The diamonds do not show any signs of wear.
This ring style, which was made popular by Marie Antionette in the 1780s, was known as bague au Firmament (ring of the Heavens), as the celestial blue ground looks like the sky at night with little diamonds twinkling like stars.
- One big rose cut diamond, approx. 0.65 ct
- Fourty-six smaller rose cut diamonds, approx. 1.35 ct total
- Total diamond weight: Approx. 2.00 ct
- 750/ 18ct solid yellow gold and silver (a hallmark was later added)
