Double-heart rings were a popular romantic motif during the Georgian era (circa 1714-1837). The two hearts symbolized the union of two people and were often used in engagement or love rings. These pieces were frequently set with rose-cut diamonds, as seen in this ring, and were commonly crafted in England, in the Flemish region and France.

Crafted between 1750 and 1800, this ring is in excellent, antique condition and the diamonds show no signs of wear.

The originally closed-back, foiled diamond settings were later carefully opened to enhance light and allow for easier cleaning.
