Antique rose cut diamond brooch with miniature portrait, circa 1790

The painting shows a young lady of higher rank, circa 1790. This can be seen by her pale skin, her colorful eye and lip make-up and her richly decorated hat, all very typical for the time. The fine, elaborate and detailed design of the brooch also suggest a wealthy origin.

The brooch was most likely made in France or Germany around 1790 and is in very good condition.
