Double-heart rings were a popular romantic motif during the Georgian era (circa 1714-1837). The two hearts symbolized the union of two people and were often used in engagement or love rings. These pieces were frequently set with rose-cut diamonds, as seen in this ring, and were commonly crafted in England, in the Flemish region and France.

The back of the ring shows two heart-shaped settings with engraved sunburst patterns on them. Details like this were quite common in Georgian jewelry, where even the parts that were not meant to be seen were beautifully decorated. The two hearts represent the union of two people, while the radiating patterns can be seen as symbols of light, love, and lasting devotion.

Crafted between 1750 and 1800, this ring is in excellent, antique condition and the diamonds show no evidence of wear.
